Past President

Eric Smith, CPP

Eric spent more than a decade in law enforcement, including working on a special team focused on street-level drug interdiction. He has been in security management for the past 11 years. His latest book, Workplace Security Essentials, compares building a security program to how someone learns a martial art such as karate. He is Director of Security Services for Denver Health. Eric is also the founder of Business Karate, LLC, a Colorado-based company that helps organizations with security planning and strategic development. Eric graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.S. in International Business & Marketing. Eric enjoys spending time with his family in the mountains camping, hiking, biking and just generally “getting away from it all.”
